The "Black side of Egypt" began with the Nubian King Narmer, who was the first Pharaoh of Egypt. He was not the first Pharaoh in history though. The first Pharaohs ruled in Qutsul Nubia beginning at least 200 years before the Ancient Egyptian state existed. If the Modern Egyptian government had not flooded the archeological sites in Nubia, we would have had the opportunity to see more of the artifacts and monuments that help prove Ancient Egypt's southern origins. Nevertheless, we have a great number of artifacts and Pharoanic depictions that show us the strong Black heritage of the Ancient Egyptian royalty and its typical population from the earliest dynasties onward. Ancient Egypt was essentially a Black African civilization as reported to us by the first Greek scholars who walked among them and learned from them.
