Day 1: Victoria Falls – Zimbabwe

Your Zimbabwe Safari begins on your arrival at Victoria Falls Airport. You will be greeted and transferred by road to your hotel, the wonderful Ilala Lodge, for your first night.

The rest of your day is devoted to exploring Victoria Falls, one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. Known as Mosi-oa-Tunya (“The Smoke That Thunders“) by the local Lozi people, the falls were first seen by European explorer David Livingstone in 1855 and have since become a major tourism hub. Straddling the Zimbabwe-Zambia border, the Zambezi River plunges 108 meters (354 feet) into the Batoka Gorge, creating a lush rainforest ecosystem filled with diverse wildlife and bird species.
