In the past few decades, Africa has faced unprecedented levels of calamities such as HIV/AIDS, climate change and a general breakdown in the socio-economic conditions of the people. This is despite modern interventions and financial investments in education, health, and technologies to improve the quality of life and increase output, especially in agriculture. In this talk, Chibamba Kanyama looks at whether some of the traditional beliefs and values were more than just cultural and spiritual rituals but an antidote to some of the problems the continent is facing today.
