Egusi soup, also known as melon seeds soup is a west African staple that is well loved by everyone who has tasted it, especially if cooked right.

Melon seeds are packed with unsaturated fats, protein, antioxidants and vitamins.

The soup can be paired with swallows (oats flour, rice flour, plantain, yam, semolina, garri, fufu, etc).
Or as a sauce for rice, potatoes, yam, plantain, cocoyam, etc.

It’s very common to find most Nigerian soups packed with several types of protein.
