This is the Kete/Adowa dance which originates from the Ashanti Region of Ghana and was performed at the recently held Ghana Festival by the Sankofa Cultural Troupe in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The dance signifies royalty and the colorful apparel depicts the rich culture of the Ashanti kingdom.
