What is it that has made African’s believe that their culture is primitive and as such we are raising the younger generation away from our extended families and almost fully assimilating to the Western culture or what many like to call the Western Civilization?

We lost so much of our culture during colonial times, and sadly a lot of it was taken forcefully. But now that we “have independence” or the so-called freedom, why are we giving up our cultures and values?
