   I see more than several comments about Derek's reaction to the dish.
   Some are saying he's rude and mean and some are saying he's disrespectful, not only to Ruth and her parents, but also to the African culture in general because he publicly voiced his opinion of an African dish.
   Saying that you "dislike" a food is no more WRONG than saying you "like" a food is right!
   Every person living in the USA is entitled to free speech and I'm wondering how many of you who have spouses or "may as well be" spouses would ever be in this exact same situation and your spouse sit a big bowl of food in front of YOU that YOU found very unappealing, unappetizing, or even just down right disgusting and YOU not react the exact same way that Derek reacted.
   Would you "curb" your reaction if you were disgusted by the dish just because you were in front of a camera or would you keep it 100%?? Because let me make it totally clear, if my husband sat some type of food in front of me that I didn't like the LOOK of, the SMELL of OR the TASTE of, I would say a LOT MORE than Derek said. And it has absolutely NOTHING to do with what CULTURE the food is from. It could be Japanese, American, African, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, etc. If I didn't like it, then I didn't like it! It means no disrespect whatsoever. Each person has his/her own individual taste in foods.
   AND Derek apologized to Ruth's parents for not liking the food, too, so he was respectful to them, as well.
   Furthermore, Derek and Ruth are a married couple who love each other very much and I'm pretty sure Ruth knows Derek's heart better than ANYONE ELSE and UNDERSTANDS him better than anyone else.
   Obviously, Ruth wasn't one BIT bothered by any comment that Derek made. After all, they POSTED THE VIDEO!!
