South African Street Food and the Best food to eat in South Africa at the Cape Town waterfront food hall. On our recent trip to Cape Town we stumbled upon the V&A Food Market / Cape Town food hall at the V&A Waterfront. We samples some of the best South African food that you need to try including Samosas, biltong, rooibos tea and milk tart. There are also many different kinds of South African foods to try including Braais or Barbecue, koeksisters, peppermint crisp pie, halva pudding, bobotie and various more.

    I am South African. Samoosa is from the Indian community. Then biltong and melktert are from the Afrikaans boere community. Melktert also comes in a winter porridge called melkkos.

    I just LOVE rooibos tea… not easy to find it here in Brazil, but I've found a reliable provider. I miss the smell of the water though, it kinda complemented the smell of the tea itself.
