A festival only for women is currently under way in northern Ethiopia. Known as Ashenda or Ashendiye, the celebrations have both religious and cultural significance for Ethiopians. CGTN’s Girum Chala attended the colourful Ashenda festival and filed this report.

    I'm ethiopian and I'm from mekele my mom clelebrets it some times but my grand ma jumps like a 7 year old even now at night the ashenda music is on. At12:39 am
